Should the courts be closed??

The courts should be open for children to play.
First, when the courts are closed and the field is to muddy to play on, and we can‘t play, outside the classes. Where should we play ?
Secondly, If all the seniors play on the playground it will be all crowded and children can be hurt.
My last reason is, the court has plenty of space to play. I see heaps of games happening in the courts like Netball, King ball,and Dodge ball and children's enjoying themselves.

In conclusion I think students should play on the courts. If the courts are open, they should be used wisely. The games in the courts should not be played violently.

The Ascension

In room7 I have been learning about The Ascension.While I was learning a drew a title page about the Ascension.
The Ascension is when Jesus went to heaven with his father. Jesus said to the disciples that he will send the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Day.

Year 8 Retreat

Just as I arrived at St Francis for retreat with the yr8s a man greeted us kindly, his name was Br Philip. He told all of us some rules before we could walk inside the building. The yr8s and I took our shoes off, that was one of the rules.
I walked inside, at the right hand corner I saw the Chapel (I can‘t wait to go there). We all got to experience around the building and got everything settled. Soon we did fun exciting activities, it was time to eat.
At the end of our retreat I was sad to leave, but our 2nd to last activity was to tell everyone what we were going to take away with us from the experience. I said at Camp is a place where we have fun and play around, but in Retreat is a place where we all pray, and have enough sleep.
When we got ready to leave we all said goodbye to Fr Bernie, Br Philip, and Joanne.:(

Jesus who died on the cross for our sins.You showed all the virtues in the Bible so that I may be able to spread the good news like you. You were half human-being like me & half God. Thank you for the people who wrote the wonderful stories about God your father & you.

Best!! Athletics day ever!

St Pius X school had their Athletics day on Friday 18 of March 2011 .


I changed in my sport clothes and got our Geckos banner. Teachers was giving points to house teams. My team sat up. Folded their arms in silence.


Mean while it was almost my turn to race. I felt butterflies in my stomach later on. “The twelve year old boys and girls please walked to the start line”, announced Mrs Pole.


Walking with the other girls and boys feeling nervous. I chose a track and got ready in my position. “ On Your Marks Get set Go!” shouted Mr Gaffney .


I Zoomed off!. My legs ran as fast it could go.At the end of the race I had a big smile. I came first place! I was in the finals with a lot of fast girls. After that I xzchose the same track as before. I Went in the same position. “On Your Marks Get Set Go!!!” shouted Mr Gaffney.


I looked up everyone was already sprinting. I was not paying any attention. I ran and ran.I caught up to two fast runners that was coming first and second. Just a little bit faster I said to myself.


A few fast running steps I got ahead. Past the finishing line. Geckos lifted their fist up in the air shouting for joy.


After that was the cheer off.
First Geckos had to begin. We formed half a circle. Sione Fohe counted us down to start,” One, Two, Three!”


“ Who are, who are, who are we, we are , we are somebody!. Cant you see, cant you guess we’re the team that is the best!!” cheered all the Geckos. Team by team shouted their chant.Some did good and some did OK.


At the end of the Athletics Mr Coakley announced the winners for the best behavior. Also the winners for the races.


“First place for the races are.....GECKOS!!”.... We all jumped up in the sky shouting and screaming.


We sat back down on the tarpaulins . “And the winners for the well best behavior is....AGAIN GECKOS!” shouted Mr Coakley.


I felt so lucky that we won both of them. That was the end of Athletics day. Hope you enjoyed it, like the Geckos did to (:
